IBFD and NTO Launch New Course on Beneficial Ownership Transparency for Tax Collection

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a groundbreaking collaboration between the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) and the Network of Tax Organisations (NTO). This partnership introduces a comprehensive training course, "Using Beneficial Ownership Transparency for Tax Collection," aimed at strengthening tax authorities’ capabilities across NTO member organisations.

The Network of Tax Organisations (NTO) is a network of regional and international tax organisations that aims to develop and promote effective tax systems around the world that contribute to the wellbeing of people.

 

The course aims to equip tax officials with essential knowledge on beneficial ownership transparency and related aspects and its critical role in preventing tax avoidance, combating tax evasion and money laundering, and improving tax collection.

 

Course Overview and Structure

The training program comprises four major modules with 16 detailed submodules, blending pre-recorded instructional videos with interactive live sessions. Each module contains general questions and case study session, providing participants with opportunities to apply the knowledge learned in practical scenarios. The course covers a range of topics, from fundamental concepts of beneficial ownership and related aspects to advanced strategies for addressing cross-border tax planning schemes and money laundering, and enhancing exchange of information and tax compliance including through tax audits and assistance in the collection of taxes.

 

The course is tailored specifically for tax authorities and officials affiliated with NTO member organisations covering more than 180 jurisdictions worldwide. It is designed to cater to professionals at varying levels of experience, spanning from foundational to advanced concepts in beneficial ownership transparency and international tax issues.
