The New Zealand government is planning to introduce a farm-level levy on agricultural emissions from 2025 - a plan that will incentivize farmers and growers to transition to a low-emissions economy.
The proposed pricing framework, drawn from the recommendation of He Waka Eke Noa – Primary Sector Climate Action Partnership and advice from the Climate Change Commission and a world-first, forms part of the government’s wider initiatives to achieve its sustainability goals.
