On 29 April 2005, the government submitted a white paper titled "Working on profit" ("the White Paper") to the parliament, outlining a significant reform of the corporate income tax system with effect as of 2007. It is intended that, following the discussion of the White Paper in the parliament, the proposals outlined in the White Paper will be converted into legislation. This article provides an overview of the background to the White Paper, and discusses its most important features for corporate taxpayers.
